Live-In Carer – Malta Full Time

Location: Malta

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Carer with an MQRIC certificate to provide personalized care and support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will ensure a safe, nurturing, and well-managed environment while addressing residents’ emotional and physical needs.

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with family members and medical professionals to determine care-related needs.
• Run errands to ensure the home is well-stocked with essential items.
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding when required.
• Help residents move safely and comfortably.
• Maintain a hazard-free environment by clearing potential risks.
• Install assistive devices to promote independence and safety.
• Supervise and assist residents with medication and treatment adherence.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a recognized Caring qualification.
• Valid MQRIC certificate.
• Demonstrable experience in a similar caregiving role.
• A valid driver’s license is a plus.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with a gentle demeanor.
• Ability to monitor unobtrusively and provide compassionate care.
• Physically fit, mobile, and capable of assisting residents as needed.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary:

• Basic Monthly Wage: €1,100/month gross.

Leave Entitlements:

• Paid Vacation Leave: 240 hours as stipulated by Malta law.
• Parental Leave: Up to 4 months of unpaid leave for birth, adoption, or legal custody of a child (valid until the child reaches 8 years).
• Urgent Family Leave: Up to 15 hours annually for family emergencies, deducted from vacation leave.

Sick Leave:

• 15 days of full pay and 36 days of half-pay upon completing the probationary period.

Other Benefits:

• Automatic salary adjustments for cost-of-living increases when applicable.
• The gross base pay is subject to applicable taxes.
